Greatest Need
YTSD (Youth Tennis San Diego) positively impacts over 10,000 children and teenagers annually through diverse outreach programs, camps, events, and scholarships. By making a donation to our cause, you can assist us in addressing any issues that may arise, and we ensure that your contribution will be put towards a good cause. Previous donations have enabled us to replace windscreens on courts, repair benches, address cracks, and replace lights. Additionally, the funds have provided us with supplemental equipment, technology updates, STEAM projects, and art supplies for our camps. Our public facility attracts approximately 100,000 visitors yearly, and as a result, we continuously encounter areas that require attention.
After School Tennis Program
Founded by Kathy Chabot Willette
YTSD's signature outreach to youth in underserved neighborhoods; we provide coaches, racquets, nets, permits, insurance, and positive mentorship during the critical after-school hours. Note: we are still able to provide this program on school blacktops and park and recreation facilities. AST is the point of entry for many of our juniors who go on to compete - some even play in college.
J.U.M.P.
Junior Tennis Underwriting Master Plan
J.U.M.P. builds a junior pathway from neighborhood outreach and beginning competition (L7's) to an ITF Grade 1- and beyond. All USTA L7 and Junior Circuit Tournaments are free to all participants at Barnes Tennis Center breaking down financial barriers so that kids can compete and acquire ranking points used to progress into higher-level tournaments.
Scholarships
We provide scholarships for every junior program we run including After School Tennis, Junior Aces, tournament entry fees, equipment when needed, and winter and summer camps. It is at the heart of the YTSD mission to grow the sport of tennis and make it accessible for all use regardless of financial capabilities.
