AST Double Tournament - Saturday, January 16, 2010 

Thank you to all of our AST instructors and volunteers who participated in our annual After School Tennis Doubles Tournament.  We had over 100 juniors join us in the fun!  Trophies and ribbons were awarded to all First and Second place winning teams.

An extra-Special "thank you" goes out to Larry Willette. Larry restored all of our donated trophies for this event.

AST Field Day June 2009

On Saturday, June 6, 2009 Youth Tennis San Diego celebrated our 19th year of the After School Tennis Program.  We had over 100 AST children from throughout San Diego County join us in the fun.  Children spent the day rotating from court to court, participating in a variety of tennis drills and games.  Pizza and snow cones were served for lunch, and every child left the Barnes Tennis Center with their pockets filled with prizes!

Not only did we have a great turn out of AST players, but we had an amazing turn out of volunteers.  We had over 40 volunteers help us with this event!  Volunteers spent their day on the court with the children, instructing and participating in the tennis drills and games.  Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the day.  We couldn't have done it without you!.

AST Team Tennis event March 2009

After School Tennis (AST) had a record turnout  with over 100 players and coaches in attendance for our Team Tennis event held on March 7, 2009.  This special event was sponsored by Youth Tennis San Diego (YTSD) and held at the Barnes Tennis Center.  This event gave AST children the opportunity to experience tennis as part of a team representing their school.  Players accumulated points for their team by participating in singles and doubles matches.  Every court was filled with cheers and high-fives as junior players cheered on their teammates.  Medals were presented at the end of the day to first and second place teams in each age division.

 

AST Field Day at Barnes Tennis Center, May 12, 2007

Close to 200 AST participants from all over San Diego County visited court after court at the Barnes Tennis Center experiencing different tennis exercises and earning infamous Barnes Bucks.  Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who helped make this day one to remember.
